Can foxes climb trees?

Yes, but only one species reliably does — the gray fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus). It has semi-retractable claws and rotating wrists that let it scramble up trunks like a cat, sometimes 20+ meters. Red foxes and other true canids cannot climb.
